looking at those photos i felt an incredible heaviness on my chest. i realised that i wasn’t breathing much. they really do knock you sideways, don’t they? such pain. i almost didn’t look at them. i’m glad, in some way, that i did.

Powerful images and daunting. Photography can be such a powerful medium. Unfortunately they bring back too many memories of family and friends who died. Somewhere in my files is the story of an artist who sickened, eventually to die. His family chronicled the changes in his art as the disease progressed. I’ll try to find it to post.

Extraordinary photos. It was especially wrenching to hear from people who had had a hard life, grinding through each day, and then, knowing soon they would die.
